This week on Guess That Record, Jackson talks with music writer Hank Shteamer. Hank is a Senior Music Editor for Rolling Stone, where his work frequently appears. In addition to Rolling Stone, he has written for publications like The New York Times, GQ, and Pitchfork. Hank is also a musician, having performed with bands such as STATS. In this episode, Hank talks about his career as a writer, and what made him get involved in the world of music.

Episode 2 of Guess That Record has Jackson speaking with Jim Vallance. Jim is a Canadian songwriter who is best known for his longtime collaboration with Bryan Adams, co-writing songs like "Cuts Like a Knife," "Summer of 69," "Run To You," and "Heaven" (which hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100). Jim has also worked with artists like Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Glass Tiger, Kiss, Roger Daltrey, and many more. In this episode, Jim talks about his beginnings in music, his career writing with Bryan, and helping David Foster with "Tears Are Not Enough," the Canadian contribution to African famine relief in 1985.

Eugene, or Gene for short, is the head of Foley Entertainment, a company that has been helping musicians gain exposure since 1989. Some of Gene's clients include Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, U2, and Guess That Record's very own Jackson Reed. Jackson and Gene talk about Foley Entertainment and how it got started, and having crazy moments like hanging out with the surviving members of Led Zeppelin and Mick Jagger.

Bio

Jackson Reed is the host of Guess That Record, and is a musician based in Calgary, Alberta. His most recent single "Dangerous Lover," gave him the opportunity to work with legendary drummer Kenny Aronoff, who is featured on the song. Jackson has performed live across Alberta, and in the United States.

Jackson, 24, is a recent graduate of the Journalism program at Mount Royal University, and views Guess That Record as a perfect way to combine his journalistic skills with his passion for music.
